Magnolia Vale, once the site of Learned's Mill, the oldest cypress mill in the South, has a long history in Natchez. Just as in the 19th century, the home owners could see steamboat travelers as they passed within yards of the front porch; today, a guest can gaze from that spot on tugboats navigating the winding river, and kayakers landing a few steps from his cottage.
